White of Witchampton was formed in 1989 by Debbie White after an earlier career in electronics with American companies.
Growing and loving plants from an early age, it was a natural life-style change when the opportunity came along to start a plant-based business. The background of responsible positions in high-tech companies, a passion for detail and a natural flair, has enabled an impressive grasp of the construction techniques used in landscaping.
This expertise is invaluable in the development of garden designs, and on site, ensuring that the highest standards are achieved. Complementing the hard landscaping skill, Debbie’s design flair, knowledge, and love of plants, is impressive.
On site support is headed up by Garry Read who joined from a building and groundwork company background soon after White of Witchampton was formed. Garry’s expertise extends from ‘soakaways’ and drainage, through paving and walls of all types, to pergolas and other wooden structures.
The company has a full range of tools and equipment, including a small digger, and with its own full time staff is able to complete most projects without the need to employ outside contractors. The company has developed excellent relationships with a number of first class suppliers and with companies specialising in the removal of site waste.
Of importance is the growing of many of the plants used in the business, particularly those of specimen size. This activity is carried out both at base and in its own field.
Satisfied customers regularly recommend the company to friends; and write complementary letters.
Debbie White is supported at base by Keith Chaloner who provides computer support for the garden design plans, photography and office support. Debra Wright takes care of the book keeping.
We would just like to say that we were very pleased with the final result and hope that the garden will continue to look as marvellous in the future as it does now. Mr & Mrs B of Corfe Mullen An extract from a letter
I just wanted to say how delighted we are with how the garden has turned out, we always knew you would do a good job, but it really has exceeded all our expectations! It's a real joy to sit out there in the evenings, or potter round checking on all the plants to see how they're doing - thank you. Mrs B of Broadstone An extract from a letter
